In general, the basic idea is to make a copy of your original files and place this copy in your z:/Submit folder. The professor or grader will collect the specific files named in the homework assignment at the due date and time announced. Never assume that the assignment will be collected any later than the exact due time specified.
If you need further assistance with Windows Explorer, please see Using Windows Explorer, or ask a Lab Assistant to help you.Click on Start, then Programs, then Accessories, then Windows Explorer. Alternately, you can press E on the keyboard while holding down the Windows Key (between Alt and Ctrl). Double-click on the folders and subfolders until you reach the folder your files are in. Click once on the file you wish to copy. If there is more than one file, hold the Ctrl Key down and click each file once. Do not double-click on these files as that will invoke Visual C++ or cause the program to run! Let go of the Ctrl Key. Then, click on the Edit Menu and then click on Copy. Double-click on the Submit folder so that its contents are shown. Click on the Edit Menu and choose Paste.
The Check Submit program can verify that the files in your Submit folder have been named correctly according to the specification of the current assignment. However, the professor of your class must set up Check Submit in order for it to work correctly for each assignment. What it comes down to is that if you are sure the files in your submit folder have the exact file specified in the homework assignment, then the assignment is submitted correctly. If Check Sumbit displays strange error messages (for example, it reports that "file1.doc" and "file2.doc" are not found), check with your professor to find out whether it has been configured.Note: If you want to check a submission further (i.e. look at you submitted code or run the submitted program) then you can double click the appropriate file from within the submit folder.Click Start >> Program Files >> Submit >> Check Submission. You will see a list of homework assignments that have been assigned so far. Press the number of the assignment you want and <Enter>. The program will automatically confirm whether or not your submitted files have the correct names. Hit <Enter> to close the program. To check another submission, go back to step 1.
