The PIC Lab

Location and Hours

The PIC Lab is located on the second floor of the Mathematical Sciences Building in MS 2000. The PIC Lab is open 10am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, except when closed for UCLA holidays.

Logging In to a PIC Lab Computer

If you are enrolled in a PIC class, a PIC Lab account will be created for you.

Disk Space

The Z: drive provides a location to store your personal files.

Printing

When using single-sided printing, you are allowed to print up to 200 pages in the PIC Lab for free.

PIC Lab Assistants

Lab assistants wear a bright blue vest and an ID with their name on it. Lab assistants can help fix hardware and software problems and they make sure that the lab runs smoothly. They can answer general programming questions, give advice to help you find bugs in your code, and they know how to use most of the software found on the PIC Lab computers. If you need any help, please ask a lab assistant.

There is a limit to what a lab assistant can help you with. In particular, they cannot solve your assignment for you. It is your responsibility to attend lecture and discussion, and to study outside of class. Lab assistants have no obligation to provide information that was covered in your classes. If you need help specific to your course, please see your instructor or TA.

Food and Drinks

Food and drinks are prohibited in the lab.
